The train from Sandusky to New York was pretty good. The worst part was waking up at 2:15 AM for a 3:00 AM leave time. Our train was supposed to arrive at 4:05 AM, but arrived 45 minutes late. Once everyone was settled on board it was a pretty calm ride.
Did you know that Amtrak can travel at 103 miles per hour?!? Pretty impressive.
We were about to sleep for only 1-2 hours, but the smuggled on beer helped us relax. When we arrived in Poughkeepsie, New York, my childhood friend Cathy was there to greet us. We went out to Texas Roadhouse where her oldest daughter Rebecca worked and then headed back to her house. After hanging a bit with Tim (Cathy's Tim), Cathy, and Emily, we were ready to go to sleep around 10 PM. It was a long day.
The next day Cathy, Emily, Tim (my Tim), and I went into New York City for a Yankee game. It was Tim's first Yankee game and my first game at the new stadium.

Since we were in the city, we had to make a trip to my family's Chinese restaurant. My parents used to go to Wo Hop at 17 Mott Street, before they were married. The food there might not be the best Chinese food in Chinatown, New York City, but it is my Chinese food in New York City.
We made it back to Poughkeepsie around 10 PM. Another long day. After catching Tim (Cathy's Tim) up on the days events, we were all ready for bed.
We woke up the next morning knowing that today is the day we fly to Dublin. Cathy made everyone pancakes and we just relaxed for the morning. In the afternoon, Tim's (Cathy's Tim) family came over and we all drove to a sunflower field to take photos....ohhh....ahhh....

Tim and I now sitting in the airport waiting for the flight. We were supposed to be flying Norwegian Airline, but they sold our flight to Evelop! airlines (I love the exclamation point at the end). Never heard of it? Neither have we. We were lucky enough to get seats in row 50 or 51 rows. At least we get to sit together I guess.
Oh, I did get some good news today. I texted the AirBnB host in Dublin and asked if we could drop off our bags earlier than check in. She said that she didn't have a guest the day before, we can check-in as soon as we want. This was a big relief since we arrive at 8:20 AM and will probably be exhausted.
Tomorrow's blog will be from Dublin...woohoo.
