We traveled to Eastern Europe from 30 April - 1 September 2022.

We had this trip planned for 2020, but COVID caused us to cancel all the plans.  WIth COVID rules dropping off, we are ready to go.  Before you email or call us freaking out about this,
  • Yes we are traveling to Eastern European.
  • Yes we know there is currently a war in Ukraine.
  • Yes we are going to travel smart and carefully.
There are many travel forums and websites out there that I keep up with, especially the Rick Steves website.  For current travel, I have been using the Rick Steves barometer.  If Rick Steves is traveling to countries, such as Poland and Romania, and he has not cancelled tours to these counties, then we are willing to travel there as well.  Don't worry.  Our plans are flexible and can be changed if world events changed.

Here is a list of the countries we visited while traveling:
  • Greece
  • Bulgaria
  • Romania
  • Austria
  • Slovakia
  • Hungry
  • Croatia
  • Montenegro
  • Slovenia
  • Czech Republic
  • Poland
  • England

TRANSPORTATION THERE:  We flew to London on 30 March to do a three-week narrowboat holiday.  If you haven't seen our blog for that yet, then CLICK HERE.  We then flew to Greece from London on 30 April.  I found a great deal on Ryan Air...the total cost for both of us, including a carry-on and personal item, only cost $111.

TRANSPORTATION BACK:  We booked a cruise from London to New York on 2 September 2022 to return to the United States.   It was a 15 day cruise with port of calls to Bergen, Norway, Belfast & Cork, Ireland, Azores Islands, Boston, and finally New York.  The Boston port was cancelled due to rerouting because of Hurricane Earl.  It was so nice to relax on a transatlantic cruise after 4 months of constant traveling.
