Leaving Košice, Slavakia we head to Eger to begin our tour of Hungary. We passed through Hungary earlier in our trip traveling through it between Bratislava, Slovakia and Croatia, but now we're going there to see the Hungarian sights.

Our lodging is above the old town area, so after checking in, we head down to check it out.
Ordering a baked tube of yumminess.
The spires seem to come in pairs a lot around here.
This church features huge side chapels.
The Eger minaret is an Ottoman (Turkish) era minaret tower and one of the most northern minarets left from Ottoman rule in Europe. The 17th century minaret is 40 metres (131 feet) high and built from red sandstone as part of the Djami of Kethuda mosque and used for the Muslim call to prayer. The mosque no longer exists, but the minaret survives as a preserved monument of Hungarian history.
Dinner is served.
Graffiti artwork in the short tunnel back to our neighborhood.

It's Spa time! Just outside of town to the southwest, about 15 minute's drive is Saliris Resort - Spa Conference Hotel. We purchase a couple of day passes, including sauna privileges, and spend a nice half-day spa-ing it. The extensive spa facility is fed by natural hot springs.
It's not a place to walk around with a camera, so here are some marketing shots from their website
Now back in Eger for some more touring and wine tasting.
This small little tavern is just across the small street from our lodging - our car is tucked away inside the sub level garage.
