Today we tour by bicycles - on loan from the Air BnB.
First stop, the castle upon the big hill over town. We left the bicycles down near the bottom and walked up.
The castle dates from beginnings in the 12th century A.D., but of course, the Romans had their version here before that. After 500 years, it'd become ruins until rebuilding in the 20th century. The interior doesn't present much of anything to see now, but the city uses it for worthwhile events, and the views and restaurants are a good draw.
We see the market again, from high above.
Now beyond the castle, but still on the high hill, we find a communist-era memorial.
Back down to the city streets, a modern-era brewery is found.
We imbibed on some respectable brewskis.
Then rain rolls in as we'd continued riding, so we found a dry spot to watch some Tour De France action.
Luckily the rain let up, and we came across this cool place on the ride home - the art nouveau facade of the Cooperative Business Bank Building.
We finished the night with some really good pizza from a cool place a short walk from our lodging.
