September 8
We drive from northern Denmark back towards Copenhagen, stopping in Roskilde for an overnight stay.
About to cross back over the big bridge again...
Now in Roskilde, to not see anything in particular, but just to hang out outside Copenhagen the night before our rental car is due back in Copenhagen. It's a nice city (about pop. 50,000) with a history going back to the Viking Age, before 1000 A.D. and today is home to a world famous rock festival.
Musicon is a district where a cement factory once stood focused on creative cultural associations and institutions, and home to Musicon Brewery
Our hotel overlooks a park which once was the site of the Danish Grand Prix - the course was called the "Roskilde Ring".
Roskilde Cathedral, from 1225 A.D., peers at us from beyond a wooded area as we head back to the hotel.
September 9 - 12
After returning the rental car, we take a break in Copenhagen not doing a whole lot, as we begin our recovery from months of on-the-go traveling.
It's the 12th of September, we fly from Copenhagen to London, to make our way to Southhampton to catch our boat ride back to the States. British Airways is here loading from the gate tunnel to the front, but we opt to walk down to the apron and walk up the stairs to the rear door.
