We've just over a 100 miles to get to Pärnu today, stopping in Viljandi along the way. The weather forecast is not looking too good with rain during the drive.
Now in Viljandi, the sky is indeed threatening - we have our rain jackets, but it wouldn't hurt to have the umbrellas that we had in Japan.
"Viljandi, with a population of 17,407 in 2019, is the capital of Viljandi County and is geographically located between two major Estonian cities, Pärnu and Tartu. The town was first mentioned in 1283, upon being granted its town charter by Wilhelm von Endorpe. The town became a member of the Hanseatic League at the beginning of the 14th century, and is one of five Estonian towns and cities in the league. "
There are some castle ruins nearby we want to check out, but with the driving rain we decide they aren't significant enough to get soaked so we press on to Pärnu.
Yes, now in Pärnu, the skies are blue once again and we head to Steffani's Restaurant, which is popular today.
There's plenty of daylight to saunter around the town to grab some sights...
Punane torn (Red tower)
We finish our walk around Pärnu.
