We camped last night right at today's hiking trail head.
It's a scenic 4.7 miles around the lake...
From the distance this bird had us fooled - it's a sculpture made of metal.
We soon enter another bog walk stretch...
A memorial to a young soldier killed during the Finnish Civil War in 1918.
We follow the orange tree reflectors, and Gerri's AllTrails Phone App, to stay on the trail.
After the hike, and half an hour's drive later, we're on the outskirts of Turku, at Mallassepät brewery
After the brewery we head towards our camping spot for the night near downtown Torku - along the way we see an unexpected sight:
"Star of the Seas is a cruise ship being built for Royal Caribbean International and will be the second Icon-class cruise ship built, the first being Icon of the Seas. As of 2024 this class, "Icon", is the largest cruise ship class ever constructed. She is expected to enter service on 31 August 2025, and will be home ported in Port Canaveral, Florida, United States. Steel-cutting for the ship began on 15 February 2023."
Now in our "hood" for the evening...the view out our camper van windows.
The Arts of Turku along the River Aura.
This rock festival had just wrapped up the previous day...
We took a stroll into part of the downtown area to find Panimoravintola Koulu Brewery.
Heading back to camp on the cable pulled ferry across the River Aura.
It's another "urban jungle" camping spot.
